19. Fret not thyself. As we should not rejoice when an enemy falls ( 17), so we are warned not to be enraged at, or jealous of, his prosperity (see Ps. 37:1, 8; 73:2, 3; Prov. 24:1). Such an attitude may lead us to discouragement, perhaps even to the point of following in the path of the wicked in order to enjoy the pleasures he apparently enjoys. The protection against such feelings is found in Prov. 24:20.
